Kiama Bridge Weekend

Friday 5th to Sunday 7th February, 2010

The venue is the Sebel Harbourside Kiama, pictured
above. It is a stylish 4.5 star resort overlooking the harbour
and famous blowhole. The bridge will be played in the
beautifully restored 1871 bluestone building in the centre.
The accommodation is stylish with many rooms
overlooking the ocean. There are several restaurants and
bars within the resort with many more nearby.
You are also welcome to find your own accommodation.
Kiama is less than three hours drive from Canberra.
There is convenient undercover parking at the Sebel.

PRICING

Lesson: Pay $30 with 300 GSPs.
Gold members deduct $20.
With accommodation: (2 night's hotel,
bridge, but not the lesson, Sunday lunch,
tea & coffee during bridge.)
Studio: 2-share $419; single $678.
Harbour view: 2-share $459; single $758.
Ocean view: 2-share $489; single $818.
There is a limited number of one & two
bedroom apartments & two penthouses.
Without accommodation: (bridge, but not
the lesson, Sunday lunch, tea & coffee

THE BRIDGE

The Welcome Pairs is a friendly warm up. The Saturday
sessions determine whether you play in the final or the
consolation on Sunday morning. All sessions count
towards your rating and you earn GSPs. It is suitable for
players of all standard because there will be more than
one section. Partners are available.

Friday's intermediate lesson – $20 or 200 GSPs
The topic is how to read the opponents' cards. Your
opponents give away clues all the time as to what they
hold – they cannot avoid it. All you have to do is learn
how to spot these clues. Paul will show you three simple
techniques for working out which opponent has a key
missing card. The lesson and nothing else is $35.

departing on 15 March 2010, and returning on 1 April 2010.

Bridge


On board the MS Prinsendam they have a cardroom which has been allocated to our
group for the cruise.  Bridge games will always be scheduled when the ship is at sea,
and additional games will be provided late afternoon or evening along the way.  All
standards are welcome and you do not require a partner, as Anne is always available
to play.

About the Bridge Director


Anne Weber is the owner of the popular Grand Slam Bridge Centre in Canberra and has
escorted a number of successful Bridge holidays to Hawaii, Lord Howe and Norfolk
Islands, Hamilton Island, Canada and cruising to Alaska, Tuscany and cruising the
eastern Mediterranean, and in 2008 cruised the Rhine and Danube from Paris to
Budapest.
